Upcoming WoW Projects

World of Writers is constantly trying to expand our catalogue of exceptional writers and works with new and noteworthy collections.

Currently, we have three yearly projects that we are looking for authors to participate in:

  • Kaleidoscope Hearts - a free anthology centered around the theme of "love," whether romantic, familial, or however you want to interpret that ideal. This project is designed to build readership through cross promotion with different authors. Authors who participate in this project agree to create new content for this anthology, never before published, that will be released in the yearly publication on February 14. The run of this anthology is 3 months. No fees are assessed for this publication. There is the off-chance that some profits might be accrued at the initial publication date - those proceeds, up to $50.00 are donated to the set's cover designer - Tell-Tale Cover Designs. Anything over $50.00 is reinvested into the following year's cover work.

  • Sisters Grimm - this is a for-profit, women centered project retelling classic fairy tales. The stories in this anthology are listed under the wide genre "Romance," and as such are asked to contain a "Happily-Ever-After" or "Happily-for-Now" ending. As a for-profit project, all proceeds from the sale of the anthology are split evenly among participating authors, less publishing costs (i.e. Cover creation and formatting). As this project looks to retell classic fairy tales, a list of previously retold anthology stories is available HERE which will not be considered for future publications of the set. Also, since this is a profit-sharing project, participants are asked to engage in active promotion of the set for a three month, 1 week time frame before and through the first week of publication.

  • Travelling Storytellers Guide - this is a fun, themed, profit-sharing project. The first release of this anthology is scheduled for June, 2022. Each "Guide" will focus on a specific "travel" word. For this inaugural anthology, the theme is "Coddiwomple - to travel purposefully towards a vague destination." Authors are encouraged to interpret this theme in whatever way, shape, and form they desire, whatever genre they desire, creating a rich tapestry of voices and styles that will showcase the many beautiful, horrifying, heart-wrenching aspects of storytelling. Participation in this project does come with some addendums, as the goal is to make a profit. Please see "Participation Requirements" which will be asked of participating authors for more information.

As with all WoW productions, our goal is to create a wide, diverse readership and authorship, highlighting the unique voices of our participants, while doing so in a cost efficient manner. To that extent, we aim to keep all participation costs at a minimum. Any fees or expenses expected to impact a publication will be upfront discussed with project participants.

Finally, completing the interest form for any project is not a guarantee of participation in a project, as we have set limits that we try to follow on all projects.
